there can be significant individual differences,

but you do not need to worry too much.

How long does swelling last after double eyelid surgery?

​

Generally, it takes about 5 to 7 days.

This is the period when the swelling is at its peak.

​

For higher creases, it takes about 3 to 4 weeks,

and for lower creases, 1 to 2 weeks

for the swelling to subside.

Aftercare for double eyelid surgery?

​

You should apply cold compresses for the first 3 days after surgery,

and switch to warm compresses after 3 days.

*The transition from cold to warm compresses is based on the 3-day mark post-surgery.

Why use cold compresses?

The purpose is to constrict blood vessels and prevent further bleeding.

Therefore, it is very helpful for hemostasis in the early stages.

Why use warm compresses?

Unlike cold compresses, the goal is to dilate blood vessels

and promote good blood circulation.

However, if you use warm compresses from the beginning, blood vessels will dilate,

which can cause minor bleeding,

leading to more severe swelling

and delayed recovery.
