A nose where the nostrils are highly visible from the sides
is often referred to as a "dragon nose."
Generally, for those who have a dragon nose,
we recommend nostril lowering.
So today, for those who are
stressed about their dragon nose,
we will take some time to learn about
nostril lowering at Vibe Plastic Surgery.

Nostril Lowering by Dr. Yoo Young-moon at Vibe!
For noses where the nostrils look
larger and wider than average,
Vibe uses an alar correction method on the sides of the nose
to ensure it doesn't look flared from any angle,
creating a beautiful nasal tip.

While researching nostril lowering,
you probably have many concerns.
Vibe's nostril lowering minimizes scarring
by making incisions inside the nose,
and correctly corrects nostril asymmetry
to achieve perfect bilateral symmetry.
Furthermore, by reducing nostril exposure
from every angle,
you can expect a high level of satisfaction :)

Not all dragon noses look exactly the same,
so the surgical methods also vary.
To broadly explain the 3 types of dragon noses,
they can be categorized into cases where the inner nostril is retracted,
the center is retracted, or the outer part is retracted.
First, if the inner part of the nostril is retracted,
we reposition the alar cartilage
and move the nasal tip cartilage
to the left and right to correct it.
If the center of the nostril is retracted
but the nostrils are not overly visible,
it can be corrected using only autologous cartilage.
If the nostril exposure is severe, it can be corrected
by grafting both autologous cartilage and skin together.
Similarly, if the outer part of the nostril is retracted
and nostril exposure is minimal, autologous cartilage
can be used. However, for those with
severe nostril exposure, correction is possible
by using both autologous cartilage and skin.

Nostril Lowering, we recommend it to these people!
When the alar rim is retracted, exposing the inside of the nose
When the alar rims are asymmetrical
When the nose looks pinched after rhinoplasty
When contracture occurs after rhinoplasty,
causing the nostrils to look upturned
When the center of the nostril is highly retracted,
making it look like an upturned nose

Among those who actually received
rhinoplasty at our Vibe clinic, many have improved
their dragon nose through nostril lowering,
achieving a slim shape without flaring,
so it would be helpful to refer to the before and after photos :)
