significantly between individuals based on the surgical method and aftercare,

there is no need to worry too much.

Double Eyelid Surgery Swelling Period?

Generally, the initial recovery takes about 5 to 7 days.

This is the period when swelling is most severe.

Major swelling usually subsides within 3 to 4 weeks,

while minor swelling takes about 1 to 2 weeks

to settle down.

Aftercare Tips After Double Eyelid Surgery?

For the first 3 days after surgery, apply cold compresses.

After 3 days, you should switch to warm compresses.

*The transition between cold and warm compresses happens at the 3-day mark.

Why use cold compresses?

The goal is to constrict blood vessels and prevent further bleeding.

Therefore, it is very helpful for initial hemostasis.

Why use warm compresses?

Unlike cold compresses, the goal is to dilate blood vessels

and improve blood circulation.

However, if you use warm compresses from the start, blood vessels dilate

and may cause minor bleeding,

which can make swelling worse

and slow down the recovery process.

Why does swelling last longer for some?
